Introducing the licensing model

Keeping licensing costs fair for each user is always a complicated issue. Often, smaller companies cannot use certain applications because they are too expensive. In other cases, software is too expensive because the license cost is measured depending on number of users in a unlucky way.

We have tried our best to keep affordable for ALL customers who are likely to be interested in it. Our approach is to make the cost of for everybody only to be a fraction of the effort which represents.

SCAI MAS licensing model details

The licensing model of is dependent on the number of Microsoft Windows™ clients owned by YOU, not on the number of Microsoft Windows™ clients is actually used on or its components are run against. The general purpose of this model is to charge large entities differently than smaller entities.

To find the right licensing model for your purposes, simply sum up ALL Microsoft Windows™ clients you have in your company and then find the license appropriate for this number of computers.

Assuming that is only used for certain parts of your enterprise (e.g. only one or two business units) and therefore only purchasing a smaller license of YOUR environment is not permitted in this license model. When you want to work with in two separate business units you have to purchase two licenses of , each in the appropriate size for your whole company. It is not permissible to use in a different company than that for which you have licensed it. SUN StarOffice™ Migration Partners should contact us for a special pricing. If you want to use as a migration consultant in Germany, your best start is to take part in the SUN StarOffice™ Migration Partner program (currently only available in Germany). One license has to be purchased for each Robot Server installation, regardless if it is installed against different databases or one single database.

The license is valid for 2 years from the date of purchase. We think that this is a solid time frame for migration, even for the largest entities. If it is likely that it does not fit for you please send us an email to support@scaimas.de.
