O3Spaces enhances the productivity suites by providing users a single web-based team environment, with built-in search capabilities and a optional Desktop Assistant.

O3Spaces helps users to store and find information much more effectively than with traditional file sharing. With the built-in alert capabilities of O3Spaces, users can be notified when changes are made to their shared information. The integrated O3Messenger provides users with the means to communicate instantly.

Shared calendars allow them to manage their time. The process of document creation and review is made simpler and more effective with built-in document version control plus check-in/check-out capabilities.

Additionally, using the integrated Rights Management Services, authors can determine how their documents are distributed and used by others. Through the tight integration of team collaboration services into OpenOffice.org and StarOffice, users can quickly and effectively adopt new collaboration tools and services. By providing Web-browser or direct access via the Desktop Assistant, members have their information within reach whenever and wherever they can get hold of an internet computer.
